Ac­cused of fir­ing in­ci­dent to be ar­rested soon: DPO

VEHARI—Ac­cused of 186/ E, B. fir­ing in­ci­dent in which 25 per­sons were in­jured and one killed would be ar­rested in 24 hours. This was said by District Po­lice Of­fi­cer (DPO) Vehari Ghazi Muham­mad Salahudin while talk­ing to me­dia in DHQ Hos­pi­tal Vehari af­ter in­quir­ing about the health of the in­jured.

DPO said he has con­sti­tuted spe­cial team to con­duct raids in en­tire South­ern Pun­jab to trace down the cul­prits and take them in cus­tody. DPO said these ac­cused of 186/E.B had tried to grab four kanal agri­cul­ture lands from Ab­dul Ghaf­far. Giv­ing the de­tails he said that on Tues­day night Hafiz Nawab with other ac­com­plices at­tacked to have hold of the lands.

Ab­dul Ghaf­far com­plainant in­formed Ob­server that he was present at his lands for ir­ri­ga­tion when Nawab with his com­pan­ions at­tacked. Ab­dul Ghaf­far added that on their hue and cry his other family mem­bers also rushed the spot to help them out but the ac­cused opened fire and as re­sult Muham­mad Kashif, 9 died on the spot while 22 oth­ers in­clud­ing Ab­dul Shakoor, Muham­mad Hafeez, Muham­mad Ramzan, Muham­mad As­lam, Ali Raza, Alyas, Noor Muham­mad, Naseer Ah­mad, Basheer, Am­jad, Ab­dul Ghafoor, Ramzan, Amina, Aa­sia, Kausar and Pathani Bibi get in­jured.
