ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) will field a four-member strong outfit in the World Tenpin Bowling Youth Championship 2016, scheduled to be held at Lincoln, Nebraska, USA, from July 24 to August 3 .

“Our team is comprised of four best bowlers - Pakistan number 1 Ahmer Abbas Saldera, Ali Suria, Daniyal Shah and Yaseen Jan”, Secretary PTBF Ijaz-ur-Rehman told APP on Wednesday.

Ijaz, who would himself accompany the bowlers as coach said that a 15-day training camp would be arranged at Leisure Bowling Club Islamabad to polish skills of young bowlers.

He said Pakistan team would participate in individual, double and team events of the championship. Last time Pakistan took part only in the individual event in which Ahmer finished at 32 out of the 100 bowlers. However, Ijaz sounded optimistic that Pakistan athletes would produce better results this time. “I’m hopeful we’ll be able to finish among top ten teams this time”, he said. The World Youth Championship is bowling’s most prestigious event for young athletes.

The best youth bowlers from around 100 countries of 21year and under will partake in the Championships, which are held once every second year. The last event was held in Hong Kong in 2014. —APP
