Secretaries asked to hold weekly ADP review meetings
PESHAWAR—The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has asked all the administrative Secretaries to hold regular weekly review meeting of their respective departments to speed up utilization of funds to ensure achievement of developmental targets set in the ADP.
He was presiding over 3rd quarter review meeting of ADP 2015-16 at the Cabinet Room of Civil Secretariat Peshawar on Thursday presided by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Provincial Ministers, Additional Chief Secretary, Administrative Secretaries attended the meeting.
The Additional Chief Secretary highlighted over all status of the current ADP 2015-16 while Secretary P&D briefed the meeting in detail about the total scope, sector wise allocation and expenditure regarding the current ADP.
The P&D Department informed that ADP utilization in the province has reached 66% adding that it was a high ratio of utilization as compared to other provinces of the country depicting the efficient performance of the provincial government.
The meeting was informed that size of the ADP has reduced from Rs.142 billion to Rs.118 billion due to non reception of the provincial share of net hydel project from the federal government. “Out of Rs. 118 billion Rs. 111 billion has been released while utilization of the released amount is 66%”, the meet-ing was told. of the foreign funded projects, the meeting was informed that out of Rs. 32,884 billion funds Rs.13.036 had been released, “Expenditure is Rs.10.306 billion while utilization is 70% of the released figure assistance”, which is higher than the previous year
The meeting decided to send the cases of the departments failing to submit monitoring and review report well and in time for probe to the accountability bodies. Similarly all the departments were directed to surrender their unutilized funds if any till May 25 to divert it to quick paced projects. It was assured that 100% funds released will be utilized.
The Chief Minister on this occasion directed all departments to get approved scheme to be reflected in next ADP till 30th of July to ensure its timely implementation and completion within due time. Similarly, he ordered to stop consultation services acquired for designs of buildings to control expenditures.
The Chief Minister also directed heads of the departments to indentify spare land posses by them to utilize it for income generation activities. He added the revenue generated from such lands would be incurred on the development and welfare of the respective departments.
The Chief Minister also ordered Secretary Industries for proper legislation to convert certain residential areas into commercial spots in the city. He ordered for starting IMU system in higher education, technical institutions and schools run by workers welfare board to ensure staff punctuality there.
