Pak­istan, Tur­key to share ex­pe­ri­ence in ju­di­cial train­ing

ANKARA—At the in­vi­ta­tion of the Justice Academy of Tur­key, a high- level del­e­ga­tion com­pris­ing mem­bers of high ju­di­ciary from Pak­istan is vis­it­ing Tur­key from 1520 May 2016. The visit is aimed at shar­ing ex­pe­ri­ences on ju­di­cial sys­tems of the two broth­erly coun­tries that will con­trib­ute to fur­ther pro­mot­ing mu­tual co­op­er­a­tion in the field of ju­di­cial train­ing.

Led by Chief Justice of the Fed­eral Shariat Court, Justice Riaz Ah­mad Khan, the Pak­istan del­e­ga­tion in­cludes hon­ourable judges and se­nior of­fi­cials of the Fed­eral Shariat Court, Sindh High Court, Balochis­tan High Court, Islamabad High Court, Fed­eral Ju­di­cial Academy, Shariat Academy of In­ter­na­tional Is­lamic Univer­sity, Com­pe­ti­tion Ap­pel­late Tri­bunal, and Al-Meezan Foun­da­tion. The del­e­ga­tion was ap­prised of the struc­ture and func­tion­ing of Turk­ish ju­di­cial sys­tem dur­ing a brief­ing at the Turk­ish Justice Academy, that was also at­tended by Pres­i­dent of the Academy Mr. Yýl­maz AKÇÝL. The Pak­istani del­e­ga­tion also called on the Pres­i­dent of the Con­sti­tu­tional Court of Tur­key, Mr. Zühtü ARSLAN, be­sides vis­it­ing Min­istry of Justice, Court of Cas­sa­tion, Coun­cil of State, and Coun­try Court House in Sin­can, Ankara. Dur­ing these in­ter­ac­tions, the del­e­ga­tion also ap­prised the Turk­ish hosts about the ju­di­cial sys­tem in Pak­istan and showed keen in­ter­est in shar­ing best prac­tices on both sides.

Pak­istan’s Am­bas­sador to Tur­key So­hail Mah­mood also wel­comed the vis­it­ing del­e­ga­tion and se­nior mem­bers of the Justice Academy of Tur­key at the Pak­istan House. Mat­ters re­lat­ing to Pak­istan-Tur­key co­op­er­a­tion came un­der dis­cus­sion. Both sides reaf­firmed the re­solve to fur­ther deepen mu­tual col­lab­o­ra­tion, in­clud­ing through reg­u­lar ex­change of in­for­ma­tion, high-level vis­its, and or­ga­niz­ing train­ing ac­tiv­i­ties.—Agencies
