Gem exhibition kicks-off today
LAHORE—The three-day Gems exhibition is being started from today (Friday) at Avari hotel, Lahore in a bid to promote gems and jewellery sector. Federal Secretary for Industries & Production, Khizar Hayat Gondal will formally inaugurate the exhibition, organised by the Pakistan Gems & Jewellery Company, said a press statement issued.
The main purpose of the exhibition is to promote this export oriented sector which had a potential to fetch huge amount of foreign exchange for the country,” said CEO Bakhtiar Khan, adding that the exhibition will provide opportunity to more than 100 stall holders to showcase the best of Pakistani gemstones, diamonds, jewellery, and mineral specimens from across the country including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Chagai, Gilgit-Baltistan, Hunza, Chitral and Peshawar. The exhibition would remain open till May 22, and the entry will be free to public.—Agencies
