KWSB for proper water supply, drainage system at graveyards
KARACHI—The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) has strictly directed the staffers to maintain water supply and drainage system in the graveyards as a great number of people will rush there to offer fateha on the graves of their beloved ones at Shab-e-Barat.
The Managing Director of KWSB Misbahuddin Farid and other officials of the KWSB visited several graveyards here Saturday to review the water supply and sanitation services.
Talking to the media on the occasion, the MD KWSB said, the Superintending Engineer of the given area would face disciplinary action if he received complaint of non compliance of water supply or drainage problem from the citizens.
He said, he had directed the Chief Engineers and SEs to personally visit all the graveyards in their jurisdiction to review the situation and ensure that the lower staff was properly performing their duty.
Farid said the officials had been asked to supply water through water tankers in the graveyards where piped water supply could not be provided. He was accompanied by SE Zafar Palijo, XEn Asif Qadri and other officers during the visit.—APP photo
