Extra-ordinary security measures to be taken on Shab-e-Barat
KARACHI—The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, has called for extra-ordinary security on the occasion of Shab-eBarat.
A police spokesman said here on Saturday said that the IGP also reviewed the police contingency plan in this regard.
Khawaja also directed that effective steps should be taken to curb use and sale of firecrackers, aerial firing and a coordinated crackdown should be launched against violators.
Referring to the contingency plan, the police spokesman said that deployment is being enhanced at over 207 graveyards, 4,000 mosques, 315 Imambarghas in all the three police zones.
Effective steps have been taken for patrolling, picketing,snap checking, surveillance, intelligence sharing and collection etc.—APP
