30 maunds hashish seized

LAS­BELA—Las­bela Police have re­cov­ered 30 maunds of hashish from a Gwadar-bound Mazda truck at Zero- Check Point in Uthal, here on Sun­day.

Ad­dress­ing a press con­fer­ence here, Act­ing Dis­trict Police Of­fi­cer, Zia Man­dokhel said that drug smug­glers load­ing huge quan­tity of hashish in a Mazda truck were tak­ing it from Quetta to Gwadar in or­der to smug­gle it abroad. “Act­ing on a tip-off, a police party searched the truck at Zero Point in Uthal area of Las­bela dis­trict and re­cov­ered 30 maunds of hashish from the ve­hi­cle,” he said. He said that Las­bela Police re­ceived in­tel­li­gence in­for­ma­tion four days back that the drug smug­glers had been plan­ning to smug­gle huge quan­tity of hashish from Quetta to Gwadar, from where it was to be smug­gled abroad. He said that how­ever, a police party headed by SHO Uthal, Hasil Khan Qam­brani stopped the Mazda truck at Zero Point and re­cov­ered the drug from the ve­hi­cle.—APP
