IGP or­ders strict se­cu­rity cover for anti-po­lio teams

KARACHI—In­spec­tor Gen­eral of Po­lice (IGP), Sindh, A.D Khuwaja has or­dered to adopt spe­cial se­cu­rity mea­sures for the on­go­ing anti-po­lio cam­paign.

He has directed the con­cerned of­fi­cials to make ex­tra or­di­nary mea­sures on po­lice range, districts and zonal lev­els, said a state­ment is­sued here on Tues­day.

The po­lice chief has or­dered for ef­fec­tive se­cu­rity mea­sures in sen­si­tive ar­eas of the me­trop­o­lis with strict mon­i­tor­ing un­der the su­per­vi­sion of SSPs. He also in­structed for de­ploy­ment of Po­lice Com­man­dos in sen­si­tive union coun­cils.

Khuwaja has also asked to pro­vide bul­let proof jack­ets to the per­son­nel de­ployed on the se­cu­rity of anti-po­lio teams.

The IGP has or­dered for strength­en­ing the process of in­tel­li­gence col­lec­tion and to in­crease the ran­dom snap check­ing and po­lice pick­et­ing on the en­try and exit points of the city.— APP
