Coming budget & old pensioners

Pakistan Observer - - OPINION - MUHAMMAD ZUBAIR

Allow me to recall for you that the Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, a few days back instructed the budget makers to pay special consideration to the old pensioners while making increases in their pension. This he deemed necessary because he knew that the old pensioners, who had more than 20 years of retired life to their credit, were the most hard hit lot while calculating so-called double pension.

This promise to raise the pension appears to be just a prelude to the 300% raise in the salaries and emoluments of our most respected Members of the Parliament who have already got the benefit. Let us see what happens to the old pensioners who devoted the prime time of their lives in the line of duty to serve nation and te country.
