New Ira­nian team to Saudi Ara­bia for Hajj talks

TEHRAN—An Ira­nian del­e­ga­tion was trav­el­ling to Saudi Ara­bia for talks on the an­nual hajj pil­grim­age de­spite a diplo­matic cri­sis be­tween the Gulf ri­vals, the of­fi­cial IRNA news agency re­ported.

Speak­ing in an ex­clu­sive in­ter­view with IRNA Wed­nes­day, Ohadi said that the visit to Saudi Ara­bia by the Ira­nian del­e­ga­tion is tak­ing place upon an of­fi­cial in­vi­ta­tion by the new Saudi Min­is­ter of Hajj. He added that “the talks will be held on Wed­nes­day in Jeddah.”

Ira­nian pil­grims should be able to re­ceive con­sular ser­vices, the of­fi­cial said. Ohadi also in­sisted on is­su­ing visas for Ira­nian pil­grims in Iran which he said has to be in­cluded in a pos­si­ble agree­ment be­tween the Ira­nian and Saudi of­fi­cials.—Agen­cies
