PTDC Rawalpindi-Naran bus ser­vice from June 1

IS­LAM­ABAD—Pak­istan Tourism De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion (PTDC) sea­sonal bus ser­vice be­tween Rawalpindi and Naran will start on June 1 to pro­mote do­mes­tic tourism in the coun­try. Spokesman of PTDC talk­ing to APP said that both the na­tional and In­ter­na­tional tourists could avail ser­vice.

He said the bus would start its jour­ney from Flash-man ho­tel Rawalpindi adding travel time for the jour­ney was set to be as 8 hours.

This PTDC Naran mo­tel was si­t­u­ated on the bank of the river and had 60 rooms, huts and cot­tages for the ac­com­mo­da­tion pur­poses, he added.

The en­vi­ron­ment of Naran is very pleas­ant and peace­ful.

He said PTDC was also pro­vid­ing spe­cial discounted tour pack­ages to the fam­i­lies, stu­dents, group tourists and for­eign tourists.

The PTDC started the bus ser­vice in 1997 which is suc­cess­fully go­ing on till to date.

The bus ser­vice op­er­ates from June to Au- gust.

Thou­sands of tourists vis­ited Naran, Kaghan val­ley by utiliz­ing this ser­vice, he added. He said PTDC had set up Tourism Friends Club.

He said 20 per cent dis­count would be given to the mem­bers on the fa­cil­i­ties be­ing pro­vided at all ho­tels, mo­tels and tourist re­sorts op­er­at­ing across the coun­try.

He said in­ter­ested per­sons could get them­selves reg­is­tered with the club by pay­ing Rs 500, while an­nual fee would be Rs 1500 for each mem­ber.

“Pur­pose of the club is to pro­mote tourism ac­tiv­i­ties and pro­vide bet­ter tourist fa­cil­i­ties at af­ford­able rates to its mem­bers to up­keep and main­tain bet­ter stan­dards,” he said.

The PTDC is op­er­at­ing around 18 Tourist In­for­ma­tion Cen­tres all over the coun­try for the last 30 years to pro­vide in­for­ma­tion, travel guide, brochures and maps to tourists for plan­ning their hol­i­days.—APP
