Na­tional Wrestling Cham­pi­onship from to­day

IS­LAM­ABAD—The 62nd Na­tional Wrestling Cham­pi­onship (Free Style) and 5th Beach Cham­pi­onship will roll into ac­tion in Gu­jran­wala from to­day (Thurs­day).

Sec­re­tary Pak­istan Wrestling Fed­er­a­tion (PWF) Ar­shad Sat­tar told APP on Wed­nes­day that as many as ten teams from all over the coun­try would take part in these two events.

The teams in­clude Pak­istan Rail­ways, Pak­istan Army, Pak­istan WAPDA, Pak­istan Police, Pun­jab, KPK, Balochis­tan, Sindh, Is­lam­abad and FATA.

The Na­tional Cham­pi­onship will be held from May 2628, while Beach Cham­pi­onship will be held on May 29.—APP The 30-year-old, who is based in the United States, won the WGC Cham­pi­ons tour­na­ment in China last Novem­ber and has fol­lowed that up with a string of im­pres­sive fin­ishes in­clud­ing sec­ond places at the Her­itage and the re­cent Ir­ish Open.

He was ranked 85th in the world six months ago but is now up to a ca­reer high of 23rd mak­ing him the sec­ond-high­est ranked player at the Euro­pean PGA Cham­pi­onship which starts at Went­worth on Thurs­day.
