People to get Rs 1.7b Ramazan relief package
ISLAMABAD—Government will give a relief package of 1.75 billion rupees for the holy month of Ramazan. According to reports there will be discount of 5 to 10% on items of 2200 different brands. There is reduction of up to Rs.30 on different beverages and the price of flour and sugar will be reduced by Rs. 5 and 6 respectively.
The prices of vegetable oil and ghee of different brands will be reduced by up to Rs.10 whereas price of date will be reduced up to Rs. 4080. According to sources, prices of Masalas will be reduced by 10% and prices of tea and packet milk will be reduced by Rs.87 and 8 respectively.
Sargodha: As many as 12 Ramazan Bazaars would be set up in the city to provide relief to people. This was stated by Additional District Collector Farooq Rasheed Sandhu here on Thursday.
He said that 20 shops and 14 fair price shops would be set up at Shaheen Chowk while 50 shops near Tahli Chowk New Satellite Town and 35 shops would be set up near Happy Time marriage hall.
Multan: As many as 13 Ramzan bazaars will be made functional from June 1. This was stated by District Coordination Officer Nadir Chatha while presiding over the meeting on Thursday. He directed to make all arrangements including air-coolers, parking, tents and cleanliness at bazaars and electronic boards for rate lists.
Muzaffargarh: As many as eight Ramzan bazaars would be functional on June 3 here to provide edibles at lower rates as compared to open retail markets.
DCO Shukat Ali said on Thursday that all bazaars would operate under foolproof security arrangements and cleanliness would be ensured as well.
He said information desks as well as complaint cells would be established around the bazaars to facilitate customers.He said wheelchairs would be arranged for senior citizens to facilitate them. Assistant Commissioners of the district will check Ramzan bazaars on daily basis to check quality of food items.
