People to get Rs 1.7b Ra­mazan re­lief pack­age

ISLAMABAD—Gov­ern­ment will give a re­lief pack­age of 1.75 bil­lion ru­pees for the holy month of Ra­mazan. Ac­cord­ing to re­ports there will be dis­count of 5 to 10% on items of 2200 dif­fer­ent brands. There is re­duc­tion of up to Rs.30 on dif­fer­ent bev­er­ages and the price of flour and sugar will be re­duced by Rs. 5 and 6 re­spec­tively.

The prices of vegetable oil and ghee of dif­fer­ent brands will be re­duced by up to Rs.10 whereas price of date will be re­duced up to Rs. 4080. Ac­cord­ing to sources, prices of Masalas will be re­duced by 10% and prices of tea and packet milk will be re­duced by Rs.87 and 8 re­spec­tively.

Sar­godha: As many as 12 Ra­mazan Bazaars would be set up in the city to pro­vide re­lief to people. This was stated by Ad­di­tional District Col­lec­tor Fa­rooq Rasheed Sandhu here on Thurs­day.

He said that 20 shops and 14 fair price shops would be set up at Sha­heen Chowk while 50 shops near Tahli Chowk New Satel­lite Town and 35 shops would be set up near Happy Time mar­riage hall.

Mul­tan: As many as 13 Ramzan bazaars will be made func­tional from June 1. This was stated by District Co­or­di­na­tion Of­fi­cer Nadir Chatha while pre­sid­ing over the meet­ing on Thurs­day. He di­rected to make all ar­range­ments in­clud­ing air-cool­ers, park­ing, tents and clean­li­ness at bazaars and elec­tronic boards for rate lists.

Muzaf­far­garh: As many as eight Ramzan bazaars would be func­tional on June 3 here to pro­vide ed­i­bles at lower rates as com­pared to open re­tail mar­kets.

DCO Shukat Ali said on Thurs­day that all bazaars would op­er­ate un­der fool­proof se­cu­rity ar­range­ments and clean­li­ness would be en­sured as well.

He said in­for­ma­tion desks as well as com­plaint cells would be es­tab­lished around the bazaars to fa­cil­i­tate cus­tomers.He said wheel­chairs would be ar­ranged for se­nior cit­i­zens to fa­cil­i­tate them. As­sis­tant Com­mis­sion­ers of the district will check Ramzan bazaars on daily ba­sis to check qual­ity of food items.
