PESHAWAR— Spe­cial As­sis­tant to CM Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa Mush­taq Ghani on Thurs­day said pro­vin­cial po­lice depart­ment has ar­rested two out of a to­tal three ac­cused of the as­sas­si­na­tion of a trans­gen­der the other day. He said pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment took se­ri­ous note of the in­ci­dent and di­rected the po­lice to bring the cul­prits of the is­sue to jus­tice, adding that one who was still at large would soon be ap­pre­hended. Ghani said the trans­gen­der com­mu­nity was weak seg­ment of so­ci­ety and pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment was tak­ing se­ri­ous mea­sures for their pro­tec­tion. He dis­closed that the KP govt would al­lo­cate funds for the trans­gen­der com­mu­nity to pro­vide res­i­dence, em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­nity and health fa­cil­i­ties be­sides ini­ti­at­ing their health in­sur­ance.— APP
