All facilities to Urs pilgrims
HYDERABAD—Commissioner Hyderabad Qazi Shahid Pervez has issued strict directives to the district administration Jamshoro to ensure provision of standard facilities to the devotees paying homage to Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
The Commissioner issued these directives after media report regarding lack of interest on part of the mismanagement and the district administration Jamshoro at the beginning of 764th annual urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar at Sehwan town.
He issued the directives during visit at Sehwan town on Friday. While urging implementation of decisions and plans of the Mela Organizing Committee, the Commissioner said that protection of lives and properties of the devotees are the prime responsibilities of the district administration.
The Commissioner said that law enforcement agencies should carry out extensive security checks with activation of intelligence network in order to avert any untoward incident during the urs celebrations. He also underlined the need of adopting all measures to save the devotees from heatstroke during sizzling weather, presence of staff at the cold drinking water camps and proper attendance of medics and paramedics at the medical camps besides ambulances.—APP
