All fa­cil­i­ties to Urs pil­grims

HY­DER­ABAD—Com­mis­sioner Hy­der­abad Qazi Shahid Pervez has is­sued strict di­rec­tives to the dis­trict ad­min­is­tra­tion Jamshoro to en­sure pro­vi­sion of stan­dard fa­cil­i­ties to the devo­tees pay­ing homage to Hazrat Lal Shah­baz Qa­lan­dar.

The Com­mis­sioner is­sued th­ese di­rec­tives af­ter me­dia report regarding lack of in­ter­est on part of the mis­man­age­ment and the dis­trict ad­min­is­tra­tion Jamshoro at the be­gin­ning of 764th an­nual urs cel­e­bra­tions of Hazrat Lal Shah­baz Qa­lan­dar at Se­hwan town.

He is­sued the di­rec­tives dur­ing visit at Se­hwan town on Friday. While urg­ing im­ple­men­ta­tion of de­ci­sions and plans of the Mela Or­ga­niz­ing Com­mit­tee, the Com­mis­sioner said that pro­tec­tion of lives and prop­er­ties of the devo­tees are the prime re­spon­si­bil­i­ties of the dis­trict ad­min­is­tra­tion.

The Com­mis­sioner said that law en­force­ment agen­cies should carry out ex­ten­sive se­cu­rity checks with ac­ti­va­tion of in­tel­li­gence net­work in or­der to avert any un­to­ward in­ci­dent dur­ing the urs cel­e­bra­tions. He also un­der­lined the need of adopt­ing all mea­sures to save the devo­tees from heat­stroke dur­ing siz­zling weather, pres­ence of staff at the cold drink­ing wa­ter camps and proper at­ten­dance of medics and paramedics at the med­i­cal camps be­sides am­bu­lances.—APP
