Art ex­hi­bi­tion ‘Where are we’ at COMSATS

IS­LAM­ABAD—The four-day art ex­hi­bi­tion ti­tled “Where are we?”, which started here at COMSATS In­sti­tute of In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy (CIIT) on March 25, con­cluded on Satur­day.

The ex­hi­bi­tion, which was in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Aus­trian Em­bassy, was aimed at pro­mot­ing in­ter-cul­tural un­der­stand­ing and each other’s cul­tures. The ex­hi­bi­tion was in­au­gu­rated by Aus­trian Am­bas­sador Dr Brigitta Blaha and In­charge CIIT Is­lam­abad Cam­pus Dr Ra­heel Qa­mar on Wed­nes­day.

The ex­hi­bi­tion was or­ga­nized un­der the in­ter- na­tional art pro­gramme Hin­ter­land - orig­i­nally based in Aus­tria-, which has set up its tem­po­rary home in Pak­istan. The works of 13 artists based on their in­ter­pre­ta­tion of na­tional iden­tity was put on dis­play at the ex­hi­bi­tion.

A large num­ber of stu­dents of the univer­sity took keen in­ter­est in the ex­hi­bi­tion that was open for vis­i­tors from 10am to 5pm for four days.

As part of the Aus­tria-Pak­istan Fes­ti­val, ini­ti­ated by Re­nald Deppe, Hin­ter­land was in­vited to host Pak­istani artists in Vienna. The first of these ex­hi­bi­tion took place in June 2015 in Tehran before it moved to Aus­tria. “Now, an ex­tended ver­sion of the ex­hi­bi­tion will be on dis­play in La­hore.”
