Art exhibition ‘Where are we’ at COMSATS
ISLAMABAD—The four-day art exhibition titled “Where are we?”, which started here at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) on March 25, concluded on Saturday.
The exhibition, which was in collaboration with Austrian Embassy, was aimed at promoting inter-cultural understanding and each other’s cultures. The exhibition was inaugurated by Austrian Ambassador Dr Brigitta Blaha and Incharge CIIT Islamabad Campus Dr Raheel Qamar on Wednesday.
The exhibition was organized under the inter- national art programme Hinterland - originally based in Austria-, which has set up its temporary home in Pakistan. The works of 13 artists based on their interpretation of national identity was put on display at the exhibition.
A large number of students of the university took keen interest in the exhibition that was open for visitors from 10am to 5pm for four days.
As part of the Austria-Pakistan Festival, initiated by Renald Deppe, Hinterland was invited to host Pakistani artists in Vienna. The first of these exhibition took place in June 2015 in Tehran before it moved to Austria. “Now, an extended version of the exhibition will be on display in Lahore.”
