Anti po­lio drive in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI—Anti po­lio drive con­cluded in dis­trict Rawalpindi, which started on May 23. Dur­ing the cam­paign, al­most 811,798 chil­dren in the dis­trict be­low five years of age were ad­min­is­tered po­lio drops. About 1850 teams were con­sti­tuted to achieve the tar­get.

Talk­ing to APP, Ex­ec­u­tive Dis­trict Health Of­fi­cer Dr. Ar­shad Ali Sabir on Sun­day said spe­cial coun­ters were es­tab­lished at pub­lic parks, rail­way sta­tions, bus stands, air­port and other tran­sit points to ad­min­is­ter anti-po­lio drops to the chil­dren. He lauded the staff of the dis­trict health de­part­ment who played a key role to make the cam­paign re­sult ori­ented.

Dr. Ar­shad said the dis­trict health de­part­ment was mak­ing all out ef­forts to make dis­trict Rawalpindi po­lio-free.—APP
