IGP for pre­par­ing Ra­mazan se­cu­rity plan

KARACHI—The In­spec­tor Gen­eral of Po­lice (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, has called for fi­nal­is­ing the se­cu­rity plan for the month of Ra­mazan.

A spokesman for the Sindh Po­lice said here on Sun­day that the IGP di­rected that the plan should be pre­pared in con­sul­ta­tion with Pak­istan Rangers, Sindh, and other stake­hold­ers.

The IGP in­structed that the lists of mosques, Imam­barghas, Madaris and other places should also be taken into con­sid­er­a­tion at po­lice range, dis­tricts and zones lev­els.

He said that mea­sures should also be taken for the de­ploy­ment of ad­di­tional po­lice per­son­nel and that the se­cu­rity should be made fool- proof, co­or­di­nated and effective.

The IGP also called for tech­ni­cal sweep­ing, clear­ance, ad­vance in­tel­li­gence col­lec­tion and shar­ing, ran­dom snap check­ing, pick­et­ing, pa­trolling and search­ing. He also di­rected that po­lice per­son­nel be also de­ployed at con­spic­u­ous places.

Khawaja said that on­go­ing oper­a­tion against crimes be in­ten­si­fied, and ef­forts be stepped up for the ar­rest of ab­scon­ders and pro­claimed of­fend­ers.

He said that se­cu­rity to all im­por­tant gov­ern­ment and pri­vate build­ings and in­stal­la­tions should also be made part of Ramzan se­cu­rity plan.—APP
