IGP for preparing Ramazan security plan
KARACHI—The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, has called for finalising the security plan for the month of Ramazan.
A spokesman for the Sindh Police said here on Sunday that the IGP directed that the plan should be prepared in consultation with Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, and other stakeholders.
The IGP instructed that the lists of mosques, Imambarghas, Madaris and other places should also be taken into consideration at police range, districts and zones levels.
He said that measures should also be taken for the deployment of additional police personnel and that the security should be made fool- proof, coordinated and effective.
The IGP also called for technical sweeping, clearance, advance intelligence collection and sharing, random snap checking, picketing, patrolling and searching. He also directed that police personnel be also deployed at conspicuous places.
Khawaja said that ongoing operation against crimes be intensified, and efforts be stepped up for the arrest of absconders and proclaimed offenders.
He said that security to all important government and private buildings and installations should also be made part of Ramzan security plan.—APP
