Ad­min­is­tra­tor vis­its SSUET’s heat­stroke centre

KARACHI—The Ad­min­is­tra­tor Karachi Dis­trict East, Rehmat­ul­lah Shaikh, vis­ited the Heat­stroke Treat­ment Centre set up by Sir Syed Univer­sity of Engi­neer­ing and Tech­nol­ogy (SSUET) at its Cam­pus and ap­pre­ci­ated the in­sti­tu­tion’s ini­tia­tive.

A SSUET spokesman said on Sun­day that the ad­min­is­tra­tor was re­ceived by SSUET Reg­is­trar Syed Sar­fraz Ali who took him round. He in­formed that the centre has been set up to take care of the univer­sity stu­dents in case of any heat-stroke in­ci­dent.

He told the ad­min­is­tra­tor that on the direc­tive of Chan­cel­lor Jawaid An­war, the centre will not only take care of the univer­sity stu­dents, but also of any heat-stroke pa­tient from out­side the cam­pus.

Ad­min­is­tra­tor Rehmat­ul­lah Shaikh in­quired about the con­di­tion of a pa­tient and said that it was ap­pre­cia­tive that the univer­sity has taken such an ini­tia­tive. He said although the tem­per­a­ture at present is go­ing low, the centre will re­main func­tional dur­ing Ra­mazan and un­til weather con­di­tions start chang­ing.—APP
