KMC extends term of contractual employees

Pakistan Observer - - KARACHI CITY -

KARACHI—The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has extended the term of its contractual employees for a year. An official of the KMC said on Sunday that the contracts have been renewed on the directives of Administrator Karachi Laeeq Ahmed.

He said that these employees appeared before a threemember committee that was formed for the purpose. Departmental reports were also sought in this regard.

Laeeq Ahmed said that the step has been taken to help save the contractual employees from joblessness and on humanitarian basis inspite of the fact that the KMC itself is facing ‘financial crisis’, said a KMC statement.—APP
