Role of media

Pakistan Observer - - OPINION -

The media boom has brought revolutionary change in the moral and ethics of the society. There is a lot of glamour in media. They cross all their limits and it is very difficult to see various programmes with family. Many vulgar activities are going in media due to some non-professional irresponsible people who are the part of media due to political influence.

Another negative role is that PEMRA has badly failed in regulating the content of the programmes and commercial which casts negative impact on the viewrts, particularly childen who have immature, clean slate minds and perceptions. Social media is promoting or socializing wrong things like current example of a medical student Qandeel Baloch’s sucide attempt. Such things are destroying the quality, integrity and credibility of media, impacting society badly. It is necessary that a role should be introduced and determined to establish credibility of media. If these matters are resolved, then media can play a vital role in progress in Pakistan . — Karachi
