Electricity thieves apprehended
ISLAMABAD—The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) apprehended three more electricity thieves by the inspection teams durig various raids as part of the ongoing drive against electricity pilferers.
Spokesman of the IESCO told APP here on Monday that two culprits were caught red handed from Chakwal and one from Jhelum Circles.
He said the drive was launched on the directives of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan. All culprits were found involved in power theft through direct line (Kunda System) and by broken security strip of the meter, he added.
He said FIRs have been lodged against power thieves under the new electricity (Amendment) Act.
He said the IESCO was committed to taking stern action against the power thieve across its all five regions. He also requested valued customers of the IESCO to inform about power theft on IESCO’s New ROSHNI 8398 SMS service.
He said the new ‘ROSHNI SMS Service 8398’ was serving commendably in all circles of the IESCO Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal and Attock. This service was getting massive response from its users, he said.—APP
