Elec­tric­ity thieves ap­pre­hended

IS­LAM­ABAD—The Is­lam­abad Elec­tric Sup­ply Com­pany (IESCO) ap­pre­hended three more elec­tric­ity thieves by the in­spec­tion teams durig var­i­ous raids as part of the on­go­ing drive against elec­tric­ity pil­fer­ers.

Spokesman of the IESCO told APP here on Mon­day that two cul­prits were caught red handed from Chak­wal and one from Jhelum Cir­cles.

He said the drive was launched on the di­rec­tives of Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer (CEO) Dr. Rana Abdul Jab­bar Khan. All cul­prits were found in­volved in power theft through direct line (Kunda Sys­tem) and by bro­ken se­cu­rity strip of the me­ter, he added.

He said FIRs have been lodged against power thieves un­der the new elec­tric­ity (Amend­ment) Act.

He said the IESCO was com­mit­ted to tak­ing stern ac­tion against the power thieve across its all five re­gions. He also re­quested val­ued cus­tomers of the IESCO to in­form about power theft on IESCO’s New ROSHNI 8398 SMS ser­vice.

He said the new ‘ROSHNI SMS Ser­vice 8398’ was serv­ing com­mend­ably in all cir­cles of the IESCO Is­lam­abad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chak­wal and Attock. This ser­vice was get­ting mas­sive re­sponse from its users, he said.—APP
