Lucky Ce­ment wins award


KARACHI–Pak­istan’s lead­ing ce­ment man­u­fac­turer, Lucky Ce­ment Lim­ited has re­ceived the En­vi­ron­ment, Health, Safety and Se­cu­rity Award 2016. The awards were held by The Pro­fes­sion­als Net­work (TPN) and sup­ported by the Fire Pro­tec­tion Agency of Pak­istan (FPAP) to en­cour­age the in­cul­ca­tion of HSE best prac­tices amongst or­ga­ni­za­tions in Pak­istan. HSE has al­ways been a pri­or­ity for Lucky Ce­ment, and the com­pany has been rec­og­nized nu­mer­ous times for its pro-en­vi­ron­ment ini­tia­tives.

This most re­cent award was be­stowed to the com­pany in the cat­e­gory of Health and safety risk as­sess­ment and con­trol, sig­ni­fy­ing the im­por­tance that has been placed on health and safety at Lucky Ce­ment. “As one of the largest ce­ment pro­duc­ers in the re­gion, it is our re­spon­si­bil­ity to lead from the front. Lucky Ce­ment has al­ways main­tained the HSE fac­tor as a core pil­lar of suc­cess­ful op­er­a­tions, and thus has in place all the pre­req­ui­sites to en­sure man­age­ment of the safety and health of work­ers, and the en­vi­ron­ment” said Amin Ganny. Meezan Bank has also been awarded as the ‘Best Bank for Dig­i­tal In­no­va­tion’ and the ‘Best Dig­i­tal Bank­ing Prod­uct for Meezan UPaisa’ across Asia. The Bank has been ac­knowl­edged for its creative strat­egy in ex­pand­ing the reach of Is­lamic bank­ing to the un­banked pop­u­la­tion of Pak­istan through its ini­tia­tive of Meezan UPaisa, World’s first Is­lamic Branch­less Bank­ing
