Illegal Afghans en­try via Torkham border banned

KHY­BER AGENCY—Pak­istan border au­thor­i­ties at Torkham have banned en­try of Afghans via Torkham border with­out le­gal travel doc­u­ments from 1st June 2016 (to­day), sources said on Tues­day.

An of­fi­cial of the po­lit­i­cal ad­min­is­tra­tion at Torkham told this scribe that Khy­ber Ri­fle Force per­son­nel at Torkham made an­nounce­ments through loud speak­ers that no­body will be per­mit­ted to en­ter via Torkham border with­out hav­ing le­gal pass­port and valid visa from 1st June,2016.

The Torkham border sources said that se­cu­rity on Pak-Afghan border has been tighten and ex­tra Khasadar and se­cu­rity force per­son­nel have been de­ployed at var­i­ous points in Torkham to curb the illegal en­try of persons into Pak­istan ter­ri­tory.

Sources also said that ban­ners have also fas­ten in var­i­ous places in Torkham with warn­ing to Afghan na­tion­als not to en­ter Pak­istan ter­ri­tory via Torkham with­out valid travel doc­u­ments. It is per­ti­nent to men­tion here that two days be­fore a meet­ing was held be­tween Pak­istan and Afghanistan of­fi­cials at Torkham dis­cussing the border is­sue.
