Pales­tinian ar­rested in Tel Aviv

JERUSALEM—A Pales­tinian stabbed and slightly wounded an Is­raeli man in the coastal city of Tel Aviv on Tues­day be­fore be­ing ar­rested by se­cu­rity forces, po­lice said.

Pub­lic ra­dio iden­ti­fied the Is­raeli man as a soldier. Chan­nel 10 pri­vate tele­vi­sion broad­cast footage show­ing an as­sailant hold­ing a knife and hid­ing in the stair­case of a build­ing af­ter the at­tack, be­fore po­lice are seen ar­rest­ing him.

Is­raeli po­lice said the as­sailant was a 17-yearold from the oc­cu­pied Pales­tinian ter­ri­to­ries but gave no fur­ther de­tails.

Since Oc­to­ber 1, a wave of vi­o­lence has killed 205 Pales­tini­ans, 28 Is­raelis, two Amer­i­cans, an Eritrean and a Su­danese, ac­cord­ing to an AFP count.

Most of the Pales­tini­ans were killed while car­ry­ing out knife, gun or car-ram­ming at­tacks, ac­cord­ing to the Is­raeli au­thor­i­ties. Oth­ers were shot dead dur­ing protests and clashes. The vi­o­lence has de­creased over the past few weeks.—Agen­cies
