IIUI new elected OWA body takes oath
ISLAMABAD—The newly elected body of Officer Welfare Association (OWA) of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) took oath in a ceremony held at Faisal Masjid campus of the university. Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari administers oath to the office-bearers.
The oath-taking ceremony was also graced by former Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Raza Ahmed Khan, Dr. Masoom Yasinzai Rector IIUI, Mr. Khalid Mehmood Raja Director General (AF&P) Former President OWA Mr Rana Muhammad Asghar and larger number of officers of IIUI.
In his address, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidari hoped that the elected members being loyal to their duties would struggle their best for the rights of all officers as ensuring the rights is undoubtedly one of the first duties. Deputy Chairman Senate said that IIUI is contributing valuable input in national and internationally for education and research.
Maulana Abdul Ghafoor said that the Islamic identity of the university highlights its unique character as it associated with Islamic identity of Pakistan. He assured full support to the development of the university and said that IIUI would be the top standard university with our joint efforts.
Deputy Chairman Senate also congratulated newly elected members of OWA and wished them for their future success. Speaking on the occasion, Justice Raza Khan said that the performing of duties and responsibilities are an important aspect. He hoped that the university officers serve the university and would do justice with their duties as authority and power are entrusted by Allah which are to be asked by Him.
Dr. Masoom highlighted the specializations and unique aspects of the Islamic University in his speech and said that the university’s Islamic identity distinguishes it from the rest of the universities. Rector IIUI said university is offering remarkable services in inter-faith and inter-sect harmony not only in Pakistan but beyond the boundaries.
Dr. Masoom said IIUI is one of fastest growing universities in Pakistan grabbing more and more students every year. Rector IIUI hoped that all the elected members would deliver their associated role upto their best. He also lauded the role of officers of the university in reforming and development of the university and assured to provide all possible support for the welfare and improvement.—INP
