IIUI new elected OWA body takes oath

ISLAMABAD—The newly elected body of Of­fi­cer Wel­fare As­so­ci­a­tion (OWA) of In­ter­na­tional Is­lamic Uni­ver­sity Islamabad (IIUI) took oath in a cer­e­mony held at Faisal Masjid cam­pus of the uni­ver­sity. Deputy Chair­man Se­nate Maulana Ab­dul Ghafoor Haidari ad­min­is­ters oath to the of­fice-bear­ers.

The oath-tak­ing cer­e­mony was also graced by for­mer Chief Jus­tice Peshawar High Court Jus­tice Raza Ahmed Khan, Dr. Ma­soom Yas­in­zai Rec­tor IIUI, Mr. Khalid Mehmood Raja Di­rec­tor Gen­eral (AF&P) For­mer Pres­i­dent OWA Mr Rana Muham­mad As­ghar and larger num­ber of of­fi­cers of IIUI.

In his ad­dress, Maulana Ab­dul Ghafoor Haidari hoped that the elected mem­bers be­ing loyal to their du­ties would strug­gle their best for the rights of all of­fi­cers as en­sur­ing the rights is un­doubt­edly one of the first du­ties. Deputy Chair­man Se­nate said that IIUI is con­tribut­ing valu­able in­put in na­tional and in­ter­na­tion­ally for ed­u­ca­tion and re­search.

Maulana Ab­dul Ghafoor said that the Is­lamic iden­tity of the uni­ver­sity highlights its unique char­ac­ter as it as­so­ci­ated with Is­lamic iden­tity of Pak­istan. He as­sured full sup­port to the de­vel­op­ment of the uni­ver­sity and said that IIUI would be the top stan­dard uni­ver­sity with our joint ef­forts.

Deputy Chair­man Se­nate also con­grat­u­lated newly elected mem­bers of OWA and wished them for their fu­ture suc­cess. Speak­ing on the oc­ca­sion, Jus­tice Raza Khan said that the per­form­ing of du­ties and re­spon­si­bil­i­ties are an im­por­tant as­pect. He hoped that the uni­ver­sity of­fi­cers serve the uni­ver­sity and would do jus­tice with their du­ties as au­thor­ity and power are entrusted by Al­lah which are to be asked by Him.

Dr. Ma­soom high­lighted the spe­cial­iza­tions and unique as­pects of the Is­lamic Uni­ver­sity in his speech and said that the uni­ver­sity’s Is­lamic iden­tity dis­tin­guishes it from the rest of the uni­ver­si­ties. Rec­tor IIUI said uni­ver­sity is of­fer­ing re­mark­able ser­vices in in­ter-faith and in­ter-sect har­mony not only in Pak­istan but be­yond the bound­aries.

Dr. Ma­soom said IIUI is one of fastest grow­ing uni­ver­si­ties in Pak­istan grab­bing more and more stu­dents ev­ery year. Rec­tor IIUI hoped that all the elected mem­bers would de­liver their as­so­ci­ated role upto their best. He also lauded the role of of­fi­cers of the uni­ver­sity in re­form­ing and de­vel­op­ment of the uni­ver­sity and as­sured to pro­vide all pos­si­ble sup­port for the wel­fare and im­prove­ment.—INP
