FDE to in­stall bio­met­ric sys­tem at schools, col­leges

ISLAMABAD—Sec­re­tary, Cap­i­tal Ad­min­is­tra­tion and De­vel­op­ment Divi­sion (CADD) Has­san Iqbal on Tues­day di­rected the Fed­eral Direc­torate of Ed­u­ca­tion (FDE) to in­stall bio­met­ric sys­tem at all schools, col­leges work­ing un­der FDE to en­sure at­ten­dance of teach­ers.

He ex­pressed these views, while chair­ing a meet­ing re­gard­ing launch­ing of IT projects at FDE.

He di­rected Shah­naz Riaz, Di­rec­tor Gen­eral FDE, to take se­ri­ous ac­tion against those teach­ers who were re­miss to their du­ties.

The use of mod­ern tech­nolo­gies in the fed­eral ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tu­tions was need of the hour, he added.

FDE had al­ready taken nu­mer­ous ini­tia- tives in the larger in­terst of fed­eral ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tu­tions and the bio­met­ric sys­tem would be an­other step to en­sure the at­ten­dence of teach­ers.

IT ex­pert, Tal­lat Saeed briefed the meet­ing about the on­go­ing IT projects at FDE in­clud­ing new web­site, bio­met­rics for at­ten­dance, mon­i­tor­ing and man­age­ment sys­tem, ed­u­ca­tional man­age­ment in­for­ma­tion sys­tem (EMIS), on­line com­plaint man­age­ment sys­tem, au­to­ma­tion sys­tem and ge­o­graphic map­ping of the schools.

Has­san Iqbal ex­pressed sat­is­fac­tion over the launch­ing of these projects and di­rected Fed­eral Direc­torate of Ed­u­ca­tion of­fi­cials for their timely com­ple­tion.

CADD Of­fi­cials, FDE Di­rec­tors, Area Ed­u­ca­tion Of­fi­cers, Prin­ci­pals of the schools, col­leges were also present on the oc­ca­sion.

Con­struc­tion work at Ko­ral In­ter­change is in sec­ond phase of Sig­nal-Free Cor­ri­dor Project aimed at en­sur­ing un­in­ter­rupted traf­fic flow from Zero Point to Rawat.—APP
