London meet demands repeal of draconian laws in IOK
heads of pro-freedom Kashmiri organisations and representatives of the British Kashmiris have sought the intervention of human rights organizations, heads of UK political parties, European Union, and Chairman of All Parties Parliamentary Group on Kashmir in Britain to use their influence for release of senior Hurriyet leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah and repeal of draconian laws in occupied Kashmir.
The demand was made through memorandum jointly passed at a meeting in Birmingham. The leaders, who had come from various cities of the United Kingdom to attend the meeting also called for removal of draconian laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act, Terrorism and Disruptive Activities Act and Public Safety Act.
Among those who participated in the meeting include: Dr Misfar Hassan, Abdul Jabbar Bhat, Sabir Gul, Ershad Malik, Javid Iqbal Kakroo, Ms Rana Shama Nazir, Inam-ul-Haq, Bashir Ratvi, Barrister Ashraf, Professor Zafar Khan, Tehseen, Najeeb Afsar, Professor Liaqat, Professor Azmat Khan, Lateef Sani, Munsif Dad Mirza, Amin Sani, Abid Khan and others.—Email
