HAMEED SHAHEEN ISLAMABAD—AJK President Sardar Mohammad Yaqoob Khan has offered himself for accountability saying if any corruption is proved against him he will abandon politics. I feel my political role is a public trust. I was elected as an independent member assembly, later became prime minister and now wielding the office of president of the State, he stated Tuesday during his address to the party workers at Rawalakot.

He prayed for the early restoration of health to Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohammad Nawaz Sharif. I have a good rapport with him, he added.

Analysing the political paradigm of AJK vis-a-vis coming general elections he predicted that the electoral alliance between Muslim Conference and PTI-AJK would pave way for the return of AJK-PPP to power. He asked the parliamentary opposition in AJK to desist from levelling false charges against him, declaring that he was ready to undergo full accountability process and if any charge is proved against him he would leave politics.

I deem political offices as trust of the people and I have never let the prestige of these offices down in any stage of political life, he added.

He reminded his audience that those make tall claims could not set up a single university in AJK. But I during four years period established four varsities, four higher education campuses and three medical colleges and constructed Rs. seven billion road communications project in Poonch district alone besides Haveli Expressway, expansion in Rawalakot airport and several other lateral projects, he asserted.

He said that he projected the case of Kashmir at the global level. He addressed four times the United Nations session on Kashmir, led several pro-Kashmir protests in New York before UNO.
