610 projects worth Rs747b com­pleted in 3 years

Cur­rency Sell­ing Buy­ing ISLAMABAD—Fed­eral Min­is­ter for Plan­ning, De­vel­op­ment and Re­forms, Ah­san Iqbal Tues­day said that 610 de­vel­op­ment projects cost­ing Rs.747 bil­lion re­lat­ing to all sec­tors of the econ­omy were com­pleted dur­ing the last three years. “Out of to­tal 610 com­pleted schemes, 132 projects cost­ing Rs.51 bil­lion are in ed­u­ca­tion, science and tech­nol­ogy and In­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy (IT) sec­tors”, he told a press con­fer­ence held at Plan­ning Com­mis­sion au­di­to­rium here. The Min­is­ter said that 32 projects with in­vest­ment of Rs. 9 bil­lion were com­pleted in health sec­tor.

The im­por­tant projects com­pleted in­cluded, Car­diac Surgery Fa­cil­i­ties and Bone Mar­row Trans­plant Cen­ter at Pak­istan In­sti­tute of Med­i­cal Sciences (PIMS), Ca­pac­ity Build­ing of Teach­ers in ICT, FATA, AJ&K and Pun­jab, Ko­his­tan Area De­vel­op­ment Project, Model Ad­dic­tion Treat­ment Cen­ter at Quetta and Islamabad, Fed­eral Drugs Sur­veil­lance Lab­o­ra­tory, Islamabad, Bannu In­sti­tute of Nu­clear Medicine and Ra­dio­ther­apy, Pro­vi­sion of State of Art Bra­chether­apy at NORI Hos­pi­tal, Islamabad, Hos­tel Build­ing for 100 persons at NTB Com­plex, Is­lam­bad, Wa­ter Sup­ply and Sew­er­age Schemes at La­yari, Project for Im­prove­ment of Fi­nan­cial Re­port­ing and Au­dit­ing (PIFRA), Uni­ver­sity Balochis­tan, Quetta, Strength­en­ing of Balochis­tan, Quetta, Strength­en­ing of Balochis­tan Uni­ver­sity of In­for­ma­tion and Tech­nol­ogy and Man­age­ment Sciences, Quetta, Un­der­grad­u­ate Marine Science Lab­o­ra­tory at Las­bela, Uni­ver­sity of Agri­cul­ture, Wa­ter and Marine Sciences, Uty­hal, De­vel­op­ment of Uni­ver­sity of Malakand Dir, Strength­en­ing of Psy­chol­ogy Uni­ver­sity, Peshawar, Go­mal Uni­ver­sity D.I.
