PM’s video link adress constitutional
Former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said on Wednesday chairing of special cabinet meeting by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif through video link from London was constitutional. If former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary could conduct court hearing in the memo- gate scandal to record the statement of Mansoor Ejaz through video link then why could a sitting prime minister not address and chair the cabinet meeting through it, he questioned. Gilani, however, suggested that the Parliament should make constitutional amendments in that regard as it was the first time that a prime minister was hospitalised before the budget session. He was addressing newsmen after the farewell function for former PPP provincial presidents, general secretaries, and members of executive provincial councils here at a hotel.— APP
