1122 or­ga­nizes pre- flood mock ex­er­cise

Res­cue 1122 or­ga­nized a pre- flood mock ex­er­cise at river Chenab to han­dle ex­pected flood threats ef­fec­tively. All the de­part­ments in­clud­ing Agri­cul­ture, Live­stock, MEPCO, Health and oth­ers set up temporary camps there.

District emer­gency of­fi­cer Res­cue 1122 Dr Ijaz An­jum vis­ited the sym­bolic flood camp and prac­ti­cal ex­er­cises of res­cuers. The res­cuers also dis­played prac­ti­cal ex­er­cise of swim­ming in the river. Talk­ing to the me­dia, Dr Ijaz said that the pur­pose of such mock ex­er­cises was to en­hance the li­ai­son among the de­part­ments and prepa­ra­tion of tools to han­dle any un­to­ward sit­u­a­tion in a bet­ter way.

He said that they had made all ar­range­ments to han­dle any flood like sit­u­a­tion while res­cuers were ready to ex­tend all type of help to flood stranded peo­ple.— APP
