Commissioner for accelerating pace of development work
Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Capt ( Retd) Saqib Zafar has called upon all relevant quarters to mobilize all available resources to accelerate the pace of development work to preserve the cultural heritage of the historic city of Bahawalpur.
While presiding over in a high level meeting to review the development work for beautification of the city in his office here Wednes- day, he directed not to cut down trees at sites and surrounding areas of the ongoing development schemes. He further directed that no other material should be remained scattered both on the sites and surrounding areas of the development works.
He also directed concerned officials to launch the special Anti- Encroachment campaign. All traditional and unnecessary polls of both electricity and telephone should be replaced by smart engineering, he underlined. He further maintained that glorious cultural and civilizational identity of the Bahawalpur the tremendous gates restored through the restoration work of these historic gates. Therefore, both government agencies and civil society should sensitize the masses to protect these valuable assets.— APP
