Com­mis­sioner for ac­cel­er­at­ing pace of de­vel­op­ment work

Com­mis­sioner Ba­hawalpur Di­vi­sion Capt ( Retd) Saqib Za­far has called upon all rel­e­vant quar­ters to mo­bi­lize all avail­able re­sources to ac­cel­er­ate the pace of de­vel­op­ment work to pre­serve the cul­tural her­itage of the his­toric city of Ba­hawalpur.

While pre­sid­ing over in a high level meet­ing to re­view the de­vel­op­ment work for beau­ti­fi­ca­tion of the city in his of­fice here Wednes- day, he di­rected not to cut down trees at sites and sur­round­ing ar­eas of the on­go­ing de­vel­op­ment schemes. He fur­ther di­rected that no other ma­te­rial should be re­mained scat­tered both on the sites and sur­round­ing ar­eas of the de­vel­op­ment works.

He also di­rected con­cerned of­fi­cials to launch the spe­cial Anti- En­croach­ment cam­paign. All tra­di­tional and un­nec­es­sary polls of both elec­tric­ity and tele­phone should be re­placed by smart en­gi­neer­ing, he un­der­lined. He fur­ther main­tained that glo­ri­ous cul­tural and civ­i­liza­tional iden­tity of the Ba­hawalpur the tremen­dous gates re­stored through the restora­tion work of these his­toric gates. There­fore, both govern­ment agen­cies and civil so­ci­ety should sen­si­tize the masses to pro­tect these valu­able as­sets.— APP
