Sem­i­nar on aware­ness of dop­ing in Sports

LA­HORE— Pun­jab Olympic As­so­ci­a­tion is hold­ing a Sem­i­nar on aware­ness of do­ing in sports here on June 4.

The prime ob­jec­tive of hold­ing the use­ful ac­tiv­ity is to cre­ate aware­ness about do­ing in sports to clean the sports from the use of stamina en­hanc­ing drugs, said a spokesman of POA while talk­ing to APP on Wed­nes­day.

He said as many as eighty Pres­i­dents and Sec­re­taries of na­tional sports fed­er­a­tions as well as pro­vin­cial sports as­so­ci­a­tions will at­tend the sem­i­nar in which ex­perts will be speak­ing on the ef­forts of World Anti Dop­ing Agency’s against dop­ing in sports.

Asif Saeed Manais, Min­is­ter for Sports Pun­jab will in­au­gu­rate the sem­i­nar while Lt. Gen ( retd) Syed Arif Hasan, Pres­i­dent Pak­istan Olympic As­so­ci­a­tion and Vice Pres­i­dent Olympic Coun­cil of Asia will pre­side over the ac­tiv­ity.

Those who will be de­liv­er­ing lectures in­clude, Dr. Waqar Ah­mad, Chair­man, Anti- Dop­ing Or­ga­ni­za­tion in Pak­istan, Dr. Syed Asad Ab­bas Ali Shah, Sports Physi­cian, Ant- dop­ing Ex­pert, Muham­mad Khalid Mah­mood, Sec­re­tary, POA, Prof. Painda A. Mal­lick and Mian Muham­mad Rafiq ( ex­perts).— APP
