Fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance to Ham­dard Univer­sity stu­dents

KARACHI— Ham­dard Univer­sity and Ih­san Trust ( IT) of Meezan Bank have signed an MoU for pro­vid­ing Qarz- e- Hasna to stu­dents of Ham­dard Univer­sity ( HU), purely on need- cum­merit ba­sis.

The pur­pose of this MoU is to strengthen each other’s ca­pac­ity and play­ing their role in pro­vid­ing ed­u­ca­tion to those com­mu­ni­ties and in­di­vid­u­als who have been ad­mit­ted to Ham­dard Univer­sity on merit and are not in a po­si­tion or can­not af­ford the tu­ition fees.

This agree­ment will ben­e­fit the bright stu­dents of Ham­dard Univer­sity fac­ing fi­nan­cial dif­fi­cul­ties and will en­able them to carry out their stud­ies un­in­ter­rupted.

In the pres­ence of Prof. Dr. Hk. Ab­dul Han­nan, Vice Chan­cel­lor HU, the MoU was signed by the Reg­is­trar HU, Syed Nasir Ali Mirza and Mr. Fayyaz ur Re­hamn Khan, Vice Pres­i­dent / CSR & Spe­cial Projects Prod­uct De­vel­op­ment & Shariah Com­pli­ance ( PDSC), Ih­san Trust ( IT) of Meezan Bank.

In ad­di­tion, Ham­dard Univer­sity is also reg­u­larly pro­vid­ing schol­ar­ships to its stu­dents on the ba­sis of merit- cum- need and hard­ship. Last year, it has dis­bursed an amount of Rs. 60 mil­lion to its promis­ing and aca­dem­i­cally sound stu­dents.

An ap­pli­ca­tion form will be pro­vided to the as­pi­rant stu­dents. The in­for­ma­tion pro­vided in the ap­pli­ca­tion form will be as­sessed and in­ves­ti­gated. Short listed stu­dents will be in­ter­viewed by the Se­lec­tion Com­mit­tee of Ih­san Trust.
