No room for acting PM: Ayaz

Pakistan Observer - - NATIONAL -

ISLAMABAD—Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Thursday said that there is no room for appointment of acting prime minister in the country as the constitution has no such provision. He said while talking to parliamentary reporters of Islamabad and Punjab Assembly no suggestion is being contemplated to appoint alternate person as prime minister of the country.

No leader of PML-N including Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar or Speaker Ayaz Sadiq have any desire to become prime minister of the country as the incumbent Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was our consensus leader. There is no such consideration in the ruling party PML-N about appointing the alternate of the prime minister.

He said constitution of the country has no provision about the appointment of deputy premier. Former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had been appointed as deputy prime minister through an executive order. Regarding drone attacks, he said no country would be allowed to carry out drone attacks on its territory. Think about the reaction of the US if Pakistan resorted to drone attack on their territory. The issue should be raised at diplomatic level besides raising the issue in the parliament.

Drone attacks have no justification, he said adding that Mullah Mansour should had been hit when he was 400 km inside Iranian territory. Responding to a question regarding chief of Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, he said Sheikh would remain angry, adding that the fall of fourth wicket of PML-N was not imminent.
