Pickpockets rampant in Jeddah

Pakistan Observer - - OPINION - M ASIF MEHMOOD KHAN

Overseas Pakistanis are fed up of pickpockets outside Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah. Overseas Pakistanis, who come to the consulate for redressal of their problems, become easy prey to pickpockets. This criminal activity has been continuing unchecked for the last 18 months.

Gravity of the situation can be judged by the fact that seven people were deprived of their valuables on Monday only. Neither the police nor the consulate office is paying any heed in this regard. I request the Saudi Authorities and Pakistan Foreign Office to take notice of the problem. —Saudi Arabia
