Six ath­letes se­lected for Ju­nior Asian Ath­let­ics Cham­pi­onship

LA­HORE—Six ath­letes will rep­re­sent Pak­istan in the up­com­ing Ju­nior Asian Ath­let­ics Cham­pi­onship sched­uled to be held in Viet­nam from June 3 to 6. The ath­letes were se­lected here on Thurs­day af­ter a train­ing camp or­ga­nized un­der the aus­pices of Sports Board Pun­jab (SBP) and Pun­jab Ath­let­ics As­so­ci­a­tion at Pun­jab Sta­dium.

Fol­low­ing ath­letes will ap­pear in Ju­nior Asian Ath­let­ics Cham­pi­onship: Arshad Nadeem (javelin), Mo­ham­mad Yasir (javelin), Mo­ham­mad Bi­lal Sadiq (4x100m), Mo­ham­mad Afzal (triple jump), Mo­ham­mad Shah­baz (100m) and Mo­ham­mad Laeeq Naveed (100m).

“We ex­pect fine show from our ath­letes in the Jr Asian ath­letic meet , “said a spokesman of PAA while talk­ing to APP.

“The par­tic­i­pa­tion of our ath­letes in the Asian ju­nior premier ath­letic ac­tiv­ity will ex­pose them to high pro­file ex­pe­ri­ence be­sides lift­ing the level of their game to per­form well in fu­ture ath­let­ics events abroad, “he added. —APP
