4 cueists move to semis in 2nd Rank­ing Snooker Cham­pi­onship

KARACHI—Four cueists Abu Saim, Babar Masih, So­hail She­hzad and As­jad Iqbal emerged vic­to­ri­ous in quar­ter-fi­nals and will com­pete in semi­fi­nals in Jubilee In­sur­ance 2nd Rank­ing Snooker Cham­pi­onship 2016 on Thurs­day.

Fierce bat­tle con­tin­ued be­tween Saim and Ian Mark John where Saim faced bit­ter re­sis­tance be­fore win­ning 5-4 against his ri­val with frames scores of 1393, 116-17, 1-68, 70-37, 0-63, 7539, 80-0, 19-72, 76-33. Be­sides, Saim chalked up the high­est break of 100 in the 2nd frame.

Babar Masih over­pow­ered Muham­mad Asif Toba 5-0 with fac­ing much re­sis­tance with frames scores of 74-43, 89-0, 7115, 75-39, 66-23. He also com­piled break of 89 and 59.

So­hail She­hzad and Shahid Aftab gave each other tough time in the quar­ter and at last, She­hzad out­wit­ted against Aftab by 5-4 with scores frames of 36-83, 1859, 33-67, 30-66, 69-30, 63-22, 79-21, 69- 26, 69-43.—APP
