CS or­ders strict action against neg­li­gent of­fi­cers

KARACHI—Sindh Chief Sec­re­tary, Muham­mad Sid­dique Memon Thurs­day di­rected the Sec­re­tary Health to take strict dis­ci­plinary action against of­fi­cers and of­fi­cials, found neg­li­gent in anti-po­lio cam­paigns.

Dur­ing a meet­ing, which held to re­view the per­for­mance of anti-po­lio drives, the CS stated that quick action must be taken on the com­plains of Com­mis­sion­ers against District Health Of­fi­cers and Taluka Health Of­fi­cers.

The meet­ing re­viewed the per­for­mance of anti-po­lio cam­paigns of last three months (March to May), said a state­ment is­sued here on Thurs­day.

The meet­ing was at­tended by Begum Shah­naz Wazir Ali, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, Sec­re­tary Health, Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo, Sec­re­tary Ser­vices, Co­or­di­na­tor, Anti- Po­lio Cam­paign, Dr Us­man Chachar, Di­vi­sional Com­mis­sion­ers, Deputy Com­mis­sion­ers and other con­cerned of­fi­cers.

The par­tic­i­pants on the oc­ca­sion briefed the CS about the is­sues be­ing faced dur­ing the anti- po­lio drives. Sid­dique Memon di­rected the Com­mis­sion­ers con­cerned to en­sure ef­fec­tive mon­i­tor­ing of the cam­paigns. The CS thanked IGP, Sindh for his co­op­er­a­tion for the suc­cess of cam­paigns. He also or­dered strict action against neg­li­gent DHOs and THOs.—APP
