PPP con­demns KE’s dis­con­nec­tion cam­paign just be­fore Ra­mazan

KARACHI—Pak­istan Peo­ple’s Party (PPP)’s lead­ers Na­jmi Alam, Sar­dar Khan, Izhar Ul Haq, Has­san Zai and La­teef Arain have con­demned K-Elec­tric’s (KE) act of dis­con­nect­ing elec­tric­ity in var­i­ous mega res­i­den­tial blocks in dif­fer­ent parts of the me­trop­o­lis.

In a state­ment is­sued from PPP Me­dia Cell Sindh on Thurs­day, the PPP lead­ers said that it has been ob­served that the K-Elec­tric al­ways launches dis­con­nec­tion cam­paign on the ad­vent of var­i­ous fes­ti­vals and es­pe­cially with the start of the holy month of Ra­mazan-ulMubarak. They said that the K-Elec­tric has also de­prived those con­sumers who reg­u­larly pay their monthly elec­tric­ity bills on the pre­text of elec­tric­ity theft and il­le­gal con­nec­tions in which KE’s of­fi­cers and em­ploy­ees are di­rectly in­volved. They said the K-Elec­tric has cre­ated prob­lems for the peo­ple on the ad­vent of Ra­madan.—APP
