Workshop on teach­ing, re­search at FJWU

RAWALPINDI—A five-day ‘In ser­vice short term train­ing workshop’, or­ga­nized by Fa­tima Jin­nah Women Univer­sity (FJWU) in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Pun­jab Higher Ed­u­ca­tion Com­mis­sion Pun­jab (PHEC) con­cluded here on Fri­day. The workshop was at­tended by 35 fac­ulty mem­bers of FJWU. The aim of the workshop was to pro­vide an ex­cel­lent op­por­tu­nity to fac­ulty mem­bers for shar­ing of knowl­edge, ex­pe­ri­ences and ca­pac­ity build­ing at door step which will ul­ti­mately bring into play to­wards the bet­ter­ment and de­vel­op­ment of the univer­sity.

Co­or­di­na­tor of the workshop was Dr. Sar­wet Ra­sul (HoD) English. The workshop, com­pris­ing 14 ses­sions, cov­ered di­verse top­ics such as cur­ricu­lum, as­sess­ment tech­niques, de­sign­ing and im­ple­men­ta­tion of ef­fec­tive learn­ing, com­mu­ni­ca­tion and pre­sen­ta­tion skills.

Di­rec­tor Gen­eral PHEC Dr. Shahid was chief guest at the clos­ing and cer­tifi­cate dis­tri­bu­tion cer­e­mony of the workshop.

Vice Chan­cel­lor (VC) FJWU Prof. Dr. Sam­ina Amin Qadir said that such train­ing work­shops are the op­por­tu­nity for fac­ulty mem­bers to ad­vance their pro­fes­sional skills and im­prove the work­place ef­fi­ciency.

She thanked and ap­pre­ci­ated PHEC on col­lab­o­rat­ing for such workshop and stressed that such work­shops should also be or­ga­nized for col­lege level fac­ulty.

She also ap­pre­ci­ated all the guest speak­ers for the in­for­ma­tive dis­cus­sion and dis­sem­i­na­tion of their orig­i­nal ex­pe­ri­ences through­out the five-day of workshop. She fur­ther said, FJWU’s re­la­tion­ship with PHEC will last much longer and ex­tend be­yond train­ing work­shops in the fore­see­able years.
