All set to hold Gover­nor KP Tour of Mohmand Cy­cle Race

PE­SHAWAR—Brisk ar­range­ment con­tin­ued for the smooth con­ducted of the sec­ond edi­tion of the Gover­nor Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa Tour of Mohmand Na­tional Cy­cle Race of 55km on a his­tor­i­cal route from Gharsal Pass si­t­u­ated on Pak-Afghan Bor­der in Mohmand Agency to Gha­lani, the agency head­quar­ter on June 4.

A to­tal of the 80 top cy­clist from 10 dif­fer­ent teams have al­ready started their jour­ney from pro­vin­cial head­quar­ter Pe­shawar to Mohmand Agency head­quar­ter Gha­lani for the par­tic­i­pa­tion of the Race.

Talk­ing to APP, Sec­re­tary Gen­eral Pak­istan Cy­cling Fed­er­a­tion (PCF) Syed Azhar Ali Shah dis­closed that the teams, more than 60 route of­fi­cials, in­clud­ing 20 judges and a team of doc­tors to be with the cy­clists on the route in or­der to pro­vide full me­dia cover.

He also lauded the ef­forts of the Or­ga­niz­ing Sec­re­tary Nisar Ah­mad for tak­ing all ap­pro­pri­ate mea­sures for fa­cil­i­tat­ing the cy­clists dur­ing the 55km race.

The aim and ob­jec­tive of the Na­tional Cy­cling event is to high­light the rest of the world that peace has been re­stored to tur­bu­lent Mohmand Agency. For peace, he said, match­less s sac­ri­fices have been ren­dered by the jawans of the se­cu­rity forces and peo­ple of Mohmand Agency.

The Cy­cling Race will pad­dle off from his­tor­i­cal Gharsal Pass, bor­der­ing Afghanistan in the north and will be fin­ished at Gha­lani Fort. He said be­sides 72 cy­clists, cy­clists from FATA and Mohmand Agency have also en­listed in or­der to pro­vide much na­tional level ex­po­sures to the up­com­ing cy­clists.—APP
