All set to hold Governor KP Tour of Mohmand Cycle Race
PESHAWAR—Brisk arrangement continued for the smooth conducted of the second edition of the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tour of Mohmand National Cycle Race of 55km on a historical route from Gharsal Pass situated on Pak-Afghan Border in Mohmand Agency to Ghalani, the agency headquarter on June 4.
A total of the 80 top cyclist from 10 different teams have already started their journey from provincial headquarter Peshawar to Mohmand Agency headquarter Ghalani for the participation of the Race.
Talking to APP, Secretary General Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) Syed Azhar Ali Shah disclosed that the teams, more than 60 route officials, including 20 judges and a team of doctors to be with the cyclists on the route in order to provide full media cover.
He also lauded the efforts of the Organizing Secretary Nisar Ahmad for taking all appropriate measures for facilitating the cyclists during the 55km race.
The aim and objective of the National Cycling event is to highlight the rest of the world that peace has been restored to turbulent Mohmand Agency. For peace, he said, matchless s sacrifices have been rendered by the jawans of the security forces and people of Mohmand Agency.
The Cycling Race will paddle off from historical Gharsal Pass, bordering Afghanistan in the north and will be finished at Ghalani Fort. He said besides 72 cyclists, cyclists from FATA and Mohmand Agency have also enlisted in order to provide much national level exposures to the upcoming cyclists.—APP
