National Day of Italy celebrated at Consulate
KARACHI—The National Day of the Republic of Italy was celebrated at the Italian Consulate in Karachi.
Italian Consul General in Karachi, Gianluca Rubagotti welcomed the chief guest, Sharmila Farooqi and all the distinguished guests to the celebrations, said a statement on Friday.
The CG Italy said that we are living a strong re-launch of the bilateral relations in all fields.
According to the Italian CG in Karachi the visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Paolo Gentiloni is just the last sight of this renewed effort to strengthen the bonds of friendship between our two Countries and two nations.
Rubagotti said that in the trade field, the recent visit of the Italian Trade Commissioner, who announced the reopening of a trade commission office here in Karachi, which, he was happy to confirm, will start operating in a few months. This is something which needed to have a stronger team in order to be able to capitalize on the various opportunities in front of us, he said.
He said that together with the Italian Development Committee, the Consulate has organized for the first time a seminar road show, doing business with Italy, which has given the opportunity, to the business community of the whole of Pakistan, to know more about the Italian economic and industrial system, paving the way for a series of direct interactions with Italian companies interested in this upcoming market.
But another very important field of action for a consulate is culture. In the past six months the Consulate brought musicians, professors, publishers, art dealers and painters to Karachi.—APP
