Afghan En­voy, Si­raj dis­cuss bi­lat­eral mat­ters

ISLAMABAD—Am­bas­sador of Afghanistan in Pak­istan, Dr. Umar Zakhilwal called on the Ameer Ja­maat-e-Is­lami (JI) Pak­istan, Sen­a­tor Si­ra­jul Haq here on Mon­day and be­sides dis­cussing is­sues of mu­tual in­ter­ests, on be­half of Afghan Pres­i­dent, Ashraf Ghani ex­tended him an invitation to visit his coun­try.

While talk­ing to Afghan Am­bas­sador, Sen­a­tor Si­ra­jul Haq said that the JI de­sired rec­on­cil­i­a­tion and di­a­logue for peace among dif­fer­ent Afghan groups.

Si­ra­jul Haq fur­ther said that Afghanistan and Pak­istan were like two bod­ies with a sin­gle heart and their in­ter­ests and well­be­ing were in­ter­linked.

The two states, he said, were linked through the eter­nal bonds of Is­lam which could not be shaken by any worldly power.

He said that peace­ful Afghanistan was the need of Pak­istan her­self. —INP
