NA com­mit­tee seeks can­celled con­tract doc­u­ments on Mangla Dam Rais­ing Project

ISLAMABAD—The Na­tional As­sem­bly Stand­ing Com­mit­tee on Plan­ning, De­vel­op­ment and Re­form, Mon­day, di­rected the Chair­man WAPDA to pro­vide all the rel­e­vant doc­u­ments of seven can­celled con­tracts of Mangla Dam Rais­ing Project. The cancellation of con­tracts caused Rs.6 bil­lion loss to the na­tional ex­che­quer.

The Com­mit­tee also an­nounced to fix re­spon­si­bil­ity against the of­fi­cers in­volved af­ter an­a­lyz­ing the re­quired doc­u­ments. NA com­mit­tee met here with Ab­dul Ma­jeed Khan Khanan Khail in the chair and di­rected the con­cerned min­istry for the pro­vi­sion of funds for con­struc­tion of Grid Sta­tion and trans­mis­sion lines un­der elec­tri­fi­ca­tion pro­gramme in District Chi­tral al­ready in­ducted in the PSDP 2016-17, may im­me­di­ately be re­leased.
