Ef­fort needed to make Pak great coun­try: Im­ran

PALANDARI (AJK)—Pak­istan Tehreek-e-In­saf (PTI) Chair­man, Im­ran Khan says lot of ef­forts are needed to make Pak­istan a great coun­try.

He was ad­dress­ing a pub­lic gath­er­ing in Palandari, Azad Jammu and Kash­mir on Mon­day, ahead of the elec­tions that are to take place on July 21.

He said cor­rup­tion has badly in­flu­enced Pak­istan, ad­ding that money has been taken out of the coun­try through il­le­gal means whereas the peo­ple have been placed un­der the bur­den of taxes. He fur­ther added that a num­ber of in­sti­tu­tions have been af­fected by cor­rup­tion.

Im­ran re­marked that the mem­bers of the Elec­tion Com­mis­sion of Pak­istan (ECP) and those of the Na­tional Data­base and Regis­tra­tions Au­thor­ity (NADRA) have sold their con­sciences. “Those who de­stroyed in­sti­tu­tions can­not make any im­prove­ments in them”, he stated. He also crit­i­cised Jamiat Ulema-e-Is­lam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fa­zlur Rehman dur­ing his speech.

Im­ran Khan praised the spirit of the Kash­miri peo­ple and said that he salutes them, ad­ding that the peo­ple of the re­gion have bravely fought in the war for free­dom. “Those who fight for in­de­pen­dence never die”, he said. Khan also re­quested the el­derly peo­ple to join PTI.

He said that those who em­brace slav­ery have no fu­ture, ad­ding that the fight for jus­tice will con­tinue. PTI Chair­man gave ex­am­ples of dif­fer­ent great men in his­tory who stood for a cause and made their mark.

He said that Quaid-e-Azam Muham­mad Ali Jin­nah did not make a com­pro­mise with his su­pe­ri­ors, in­stead he fought for free­dom till the very end.—INP
