Students display works at PIEAS’ Open House
ZUBAIR QURESHI ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) being run under the aegis of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), Monday organized an “Open House” at its campus in Nilore, Islamabad.
This was the 4th Open House organized at Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) by the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) in collaboration with Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering.
A total of 34 final year projects were displayed along with some stalls from the industry and public sector organization. Fifteen projects by BS Electrical Engineering students and nineteen projects by BS Mechanical Engineering students were exhibited.
In the event, different intellectuals, industry professionals and students participated in large numbers. The event comprised of the project displays of BS Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering students providing them with an opportunity of on spot interviews with potential employers besides showing their creativity. The faculty of PIEAS was also available for further healthy cooperation and discussion.
A large number of professionals from industry and government sector organizations participated in the activity. The creative work of the students impressed all visitors. The projects covering the area such as power electronics, bio medical engineering, control, communication, thermal hydraulics and automotive engineering were displayed. The products developed were of high standard and exhibited the innovation potential at the best institution in Pakistan.
The event was managed by Dr. M. Tayyeb Javed, through his persistent efforts at PIEAS to inculcate the entrepreneurial mindset in Pakistani youth and to develop meaningful university industry linkages. Dr. M. Javed Hyder, Director ORIC; Dr. Nasir Majid Mirza, Pro - Rector and senior management of PAEC have been very supportive and a source of inspiration for a renewed effort in building an integrated community.
The visitors took keen interest in the projects on display and appreciated the creative efforts of the PIEAS graduates.
