AAUR subcampus to be established at Mandra
ISLAMABAD—Parliamentary Secretary Cabinet Secretariat Raja Muhammad Javed Ikhlas has said that sub-campus of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) would be established in Mandra for providing opportunity to students of the area. Different degree programmes will be offered in the Camput with special emphasis on subjects related to agriculture, Raja Ikhlas said this while addressing at Annual Dinner organized by students of the PMASAAUR, said a press release issued by the University here on Monday.
On the occasion, University’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad, Deans of various faculties, Directors, faculty members and a large number of students were also present.
Javed Ikhlas said that the provincial government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif was taking keen interest in the development of higher education facilities to the youth especially living in far flung areas of the province. Pothohar region has a potential of high agricultural productivity due to the highly skilled farming community, he said.
He appreciated University Model Research Farm having drip/sprinkler irrigation system for orchards, tunnel farming and rainwater harvesting which was an example for the farmers of the area.
